Illinois Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger on Saturday signaled his opposition to President Donald Trump and other Republicans who are fighting to contest the validity of the 2020 election results.

In a scathing tweet, Kinzinger wrote: “My God. Trying to burn the place down on the way out because you can’t handle losing. No evidence, nothing but your temper tantrum and crazy conspiracies. Embarrassing.

The Illinois congressman was responding directly to remarks made by the President on Saturday where he accused the FBI and Justice Department of inaction concerning nationwide calls to investigate allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 elections.

Kinzinger is a lifelong career politician and Air Force serviceman, having began his political career as an Illinois County Board member while still attending college – he has served in Congress for the past 10 years. In a rebuke of recent shifts in the Republican Party under the Trump Administration, Kinzinger has been calling for a ‘restoration’ of the GOP.
