Lori Lightfoot Says Mitch McConnell Needs to ‘Stop The Nonsense’
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot addressed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell telling him to "stop the nonsense" in a press conference on Wednesday.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot addressed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell telling him to “stop the nonsense” in a press conference on Wednesday.
“I know that there’s a lot of posturing that goes on in Washington, D.C., but dear God, stop the nonsense… Get something done. We are hurting here in the heartland and all across our country, and we need the federal government to step up and do their job,” Lightfoot said in the press conference.
Lightfoot’s words were directed toward mounting frustration between Democrats and Republicans, led by McConnell, over a COVID-19 relief bill that has been stalled in the senate for several months.
