ABC’s ‘The View’ cohost Joy Behar on Tuesday compared US Attorney General Bill Barr’s resignation yesterday to that of “a big rat jumping off a sinking ship.

ABC News legal correspondent Dan Abrams discussed Barr’s resignation with Behar during an episode of ABC’s ‘The View’ on Tuesday.

Abrams said that he had initially not objected to the hiring of Barr as Attorney General.

“I thought based on his reputation, based on his experience, based on history he would be a good attorney general,” Abrams said on the show, but added with consternation that he had changed his mind later.

Abrams then said that Barr’s resignation letter had given him a “dear leader” feeling, possibly alluding to the fact that Barr had spoken highly of President Donald Trump in the letter.

Barr mentioned Trump’s “unprecedented achievements” for the American people, saying that they were accomplished despite “relentless, implacable resistance” from his opponents.

The Attorney General also said that Trump has been victim to a “partisan onslaught… in which no tactic, no matter how abusive and deceitful, was out of bounds.”

Behar scoffed in response to the comments Abrams made, saying: “You know, I’m laughing because that big splash noise you just heard was a big rat jumping off a sinking ship… This big rat is running for his life. He’s running for his life. He knows that if he stays there, more harm will come to him.

Behar also exclaimed that she had never considered Barr to be a good choice citing the AG’s his childhood.
