Trump Gives Approval to Begin Biden Transition, Releases Funds

On Monday President Donald Trump provided approval to begin the transition process to a Joe Biden administration.

On Monday President Donald Trump provided approval to begin the transition process to a Joe Biden administration. The go-ahead was given to the General Services Administrator Emily Murphy.

The president stated publicly, “I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.”

This afternoon, Murphy informed the Biden team that the president is ready to begin the formal transition process, according to a report by CNN.

Murphy wrote that she would be making resources available to the Biden campaign so they can begin the transition process.

The process will grant access to office space inside federal agencies while providing access to resources.

“This final decision is a definitive administrative action to formally begin the transition process with federal agencies,” Biden’s transition director Yohannes Abraham wrote in a statement. “In the days ahead, transition officials will begin meeting with federal officials to discuss the pandemic response, have a full accounting of our national security interests, and gain complete understanding of the Trump administration’s efforts to hollow out government agencies.”
