Mandatory: Vaccination Required to Fly Says Qantas Airlines

International travelers will require proof of vaccination against Covid-19 to board flights on Australia's largest airline.

International travelers will require proof of vaccination against Covid-19 to board flights on Australia’s largest airline. Qantas Airways, the third oldest airline in the world, announced the policy on Monday.

According to Alan Joyce, the firm’s CEO, a proof of the vaccine will be a “necessity” when traveling. He stated, “we are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say for international travelers, we will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft,” adding that “I think that’s going to be a common thing talking to my colleagues in other airlines around the globe.”

Australia had closed its borders to international travel earlier this year due to the pandemic while requiring returning travelers to quarantine upon arrival.
