$320 Million Worth of ‘DARK’ Money Boosted Joe Biden, Democrats

A report released by the Center for Responsive Politics has found that $320 million worth of “dark money” contributed to Democrat races in the 2020 election cycle, double what was received by Republicans.

According to the analysis, $132 million worth of anonymous dark money contributions went to Joe Biden’s election effort, compared to only $22 million found to have gone to President Donald Trump.

“Dark Money” is defined as donations and spending by nonprofits that do not disclose the sources of the money. Also included in the total contributions is money coming in from shell companies.

The report combined analysis of super PACs and money that nonprofits spent directly on elections for specific candidates.
